The Granite Shoals Police Department is responsible for enforcing state laws as well as ordinances of the City of Granite Shoals enacted by the city council. Some residents and visitors to the city may not be familiar with all The police officer's association is providing some basic information to help all residents and guests stay in compliance with ordinances the police department commonly enforces. These highlights will be updated from time to time, look for notices on the media center page.
CITY PARKS
• No alcohol in city parks. Violators will receive citations!
• No glass containers in city parks.
• City parks are closed between the hours of 10PM and 7AM.
NOISE
• Music cannot be audible off your property line between the hours of 10PM and 7AM.
• Music from your vehicle cannot be audible outside of your vehicle.
• Music or noise that does not constitute a violation under city ordinance may still be a violation of state law.

ANIMALS
• All animals must be registered with the City of Granite Shoals.
• All animals must have current rabies vaccinations.
• Animals cannot be allowed to roam freely. Animals must be restrained by either a leash or fence at all times.
WATER SAFETY
The City of Granite Shoals has enacted Texas Marine Safety Laws as city ordinances. The Granite Shoals Police Department routinely patrols the shores of Lake LBJ for violations.
• Obey all posted 'No Wake Zone' signs.
• All passengers on a watercraft must have a personal floatation device.
• All watercraft must have at least one fire extinguisher on board.
• All watercraft must have a sound producing device on board.
• All watercraft must have proper lighting.
• Operating a personal watercraft with 100' of another vessel is considered reckless operation!
