Serving pets and people!
Because residents and visitors in the city of Granite Shoals are able to share their surroundings with both domestic and wild animals, the role of Animal Control is vital to ensure safe human and animal interaction. Officer Preston Williams is charged with the task of promoting and protecting public safety and animal care through both education and law enforcement through the Granite Shoals Police Department. His duties include monitoring rabies.
Key duties of the Animal Control Officer:
• Transfer of strays and abandoned pets to the local Animal Control Facility
• Monitoring rabies and other infectious animal diseases
• Educating the public about vaccination and City registration.
• Enforcement of State Laws and City Ordinances
The department does not operate a shelter for, or perform wild animal removal unless rabies is suspected.
