ABOUT
The Granite Shoals Police Officers Association was formed in 2005. It was created in association with the Texas Municipal Police Association. All Employees of the Police Department are members.

The Granite Shoals Police Officers Association was created for both representation and support of the officers of the Granite Shoals Police Department. The GSPOA also serves as a support system for the GSPD by raising funds to provide items, equipment and support that are not currently included in the City Budget.

For more details, click the media center tab and check out the Intro to the GSPOA program.

All Officers are encouraged to be a member of the Association for the benefits that it and T.M.P.A. offer, but it is not mandatory. The Association works hand in hand with the community and civic organizations for community projects as well as fundraisers.

The Granite Shoals Police Officers Association prides itself on its involvement and dedication to the community. The members of the GSPOA select charities and organizations to provide sponsorship or support to and sponsor several community events as well.

Annual Events sponsored by GSPOA:
• Community Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny

Looking Forward:
In 2012, K-9 Unit Jopie will be retiring. If the City budget does not include a replacement dog, the GSPOA will look to raise the $10,000.00 cost of acquiring a new Police Dog, training and handler training. Granite Shoals has greatly benefitted from having this Special Unit and it will be a priority for the GSPOA.
